Dish Soap and Birthdays
Have you ever put dish soap in a public fountain? I mean, I’m not encouraging you to do such a thing. I think some people call it “defacement of public property” or something. (Maybe lots of people would call it that.) I just thought I would ask.
I’m a curious person.
Today is Sarah’s birthday and I’ve been thinking about all kinds of hilarious stories from the past 30-some odd years we’ve been friends. I’m not saying that there are 8 foot walls of suds in those memories, but I’m also NOT not saying it either. When you’ve been friends for as long as we have, there are a lot of NOT stories. Tons of birthday celebrations and funny stories from growing up. There are memories from camp and high school and even working at the same company when we were older. There are memories of when each of us got married and started our own families. There are so many life experiences that have shaped who we are and how we live. There are so many experiences that make us the friends we are today.
It’s so fun to have the bestest of friends who have so many memories with you and of you. It’s so fun to celebrate BIG birthdays filled to the brim (I hope) with love and fun and hilarious, 22 year old memories that pop up just because milestone birthdays often do that to you.
Happiest of happy birthdays, Sarah. I don’t think I could accurately explain how much you mean to me and how grateful I am for our friendship. I hope you had THE BEST day. I hope you also get a kick out of 8ft walls of suds just for the heck of it.
